Catechesis of the Good Shepherd – Level 1 (Ages 3-6) Level 2 (Ages 6-9)
Meets weekly with monthly Parent Session
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based religious formation method used for children, beginning at the age of three. The environment called an atrium which is created especially for them, seeks to facilitate a sacred, “hands-on” experience, in which both the children and the catechists can hear, ponder, and celebrate the most essential mysteries of the Christian faith as revealed in the Scriptures and Liturgy. Originally developed in Rome by Dr. Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi 60 years ago, CGS has since spread worldwide. Parents are kept informed through quarterly meetings and newsletters. Parents are also expected to attend the monthly parent sessions offered the first week of every month. Feel free to make an appointment to come and see the atrium outside of class time.
